DOWN TO THE WIRE: MNF Preview

DOWN TO THE WIRE: MNF Preview

In the game of the week, Trey Fly’s Austin TX Heavy Hangers enter into Monday’s game down 9 pts with Cotchery to play. Can Farve get it done on the road, in the spotlight against a less-than-stellar Chargers defense? Team Frog Killer put up a solid effort, good for the 2nd highest point total of the week…so far. Big games from Addai and Boldin highlight the ups for Brooks, but his QB situation, the economy and the current state of the rebuilding Ponies might lead Brooks to a dark path of destruction ala Denton circa 2005. This should come down to the wire with the winner improving to 2-1 and the loser falling to 1-2.

The Cobra Kai find themselves in quite a predicament after leaving Ronnie “Downtown” Brown and his 50 Fantasy points on the bench. Did I have the foresight to trade my last overall pick and a waiver wire free agent for the guy?? Yes. Did I have the balls to start him?? No. Would you have?? Probably not. Did I really see him throw a touchdown against the Pats?? Either way, new acquisition Thomas Jones will be counted upon to score 8 plus points if the Cobra Kai expects to remain undefeated. Desperate for a win, Danna Montana finally got the pts he was expecting from TJ Whose-Your-Mama, and he’s counting on cry-baby…err I mean Chad Pennington’s BFF…err I mean questionable WR Leveraneus Coles to keep the Kai at bay tonight. Personally, I will be yelling for Johnny to “Get him a body bag!”

Another game going down to the wire involves league commissioner Christopher Vittetoe and longtime nemesis Tucker Hughes. Team Hughes has been rolling and down only 3.5 pts, Tucker is counting on Brett Farve tonight to push him into the winner’s circle. Fortunately, Vittetoe does sound like he’s eased off the crack pipe after trading for FFB superstar in waiting…JT O’Sullivan. I know someone’s who’s going to be the biggest Chargers’ fan in Northern Cali tonight. Both Hughes and Vittetoe are 1-1 so this is a BIG swing game.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. Team Awesome, perhaps the most revered FFB team in the Carter III after hijacking Danna Montana of McNabb and Parker, has stumbled the last two weeks. That tends to happen when your # 1 pick is dinged up. In another big swing game with both teams tied at 1-1, Call Me Adam holds a 22 point lead over Team Awesome but both have pivotal players going tonight: LT for Team Awesome…and the question is how much will that guy play? And…Rivers for Call Me Adam. You have to think Shelton and Co. will pull this one out tonight, but we’ve seen LT do amazing things on the field before.

In the other two games, it looks like Team Chaos will fall from the ranks of the unbeaten this week after getting goose eggs from its star players, Westbrook and McFadden. Seriosuly…better back from Arkansas…maybe Felix Jones, seriously?? SA El Squid Row had a good week from Brandon Marshall (enjoy him now because our tax paying dollars will soon go to work with this guy behind bars…if there was a penitentiary fantasy league, I’d take Marshall before anyone except Burt Reynolds)

Chaos does have the Chargers defense and Antonio Gates tonight, but it looks to me like Asher will finally get into the Win column.

In other news, the Texas Torpedoes improved to 3-0 with a 106 to 74.5 win over Freaky Deaky. Nice point totals fellas.

I will leave you with the quote of the week, submitted by team Frog Killer owner Beau Brooks:

“I think when hurricane ike saw hurricane denton it decided, better to circumvent the joe fly warehouse.”

PREDICTION:

28-17 Chargers
